Ingredients

  • 1 pound trimmed round steak, partially frozen for easier slicing
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 6 cups broccoli flowerets
  • 3 green onions, cut into 2-inch lengths

Instructions

Slice steak thinly across the grain. Combine soy sauce, water, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and cornstarch; mix well and set aside. Heat a heavy skillet or wok. Add oil, ginger and garlic and stir-fry the meat until no longer pink colored; remove from wok. Add broccoli and green onions to the wok; toss for a few minutes, then return the meat to the wok. Add sauce to the meat and stir until the sauce thickens. Serve with hot steamed rice.
